Harvey R. Butcheck, 75, of Meadville and a resident of the Crawford County Care Center since May died there Tuesday, October 22, 2019.
He was born November 19, 1943 in Meadville a son of Chester and Ida Sheckler Butcheck. He was a 1961 graduate of Meadville High School and worked for Conrail first as a car man and then as an inspector.
He was a reborn Christian and was a member of Meadville Eagles Aerie 429 and the Italian Civic Club. He was an avid outdoorsman, loved fishing, bowling, playing softball and enjoyed golfing. He could be found most mornings having coffee at McDonald’s with the gang. He also enjoyed great bluegrass music.
He is survived by two daughters, Kimberly Kinnear (Jeffrey Cage) of Meadville and Tamara Mudger (Scott) of Guys Mills; two sons, Richard Butcheck and Steven Butcheck (Mary Hull) both of Meadville; four grandchildren, Bradley Parker (Amanda), Dylan Mudger, Kayla Butcheck (Ken Beary) and Dawn Parker; two great grandchildren, Paytin Bellinger and Logan Beary; a sister, Shirley Zarecki (Harry) of Jacksonville, FL; many nieces and nephews and his long-time good friend, Kenny Gerritsen of Meadville
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Calling hours will be Saturday, October 26th from 12-2 p.m. at the ROBERT W. WAID FUNERAL HOME, INC., 581 Chestnut Street, Meadville. The funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Gerald Walton, Pastor of First Baptist Church, officiating.
Interment will be in Mumford Chapel Cemetery.
