Obituary

David Earl Davis, 56, of Meadville, died Sunday, November 26, 2000, at Beverly HealthCare, Meadville, following a period of declining health.  

 

Born in Meadville, March 12, 1944, he was a son of Harold M. and Wilma J. Peelman Davis.  

 

He was a graduate of Michael's Hair Academy in Erie and worked as a hairdresser at Coiffures by Twila for 20 years.  He was also an avid puppeteer.  He and his partner, Rex Pierce, traveled around the coutry as Dave and Rex Marionettes doing shows for the past 21 years.  He also made most of his marionettes and puppets, having made several hundred over his lifetime.  

 

Survivors include his lifelong partner, Rex Pierce of Meadville; three brothers, Daniel Davis (Rebecca) of Meadville, N. Scott Davis (Charlotte) of Meadville and Richard Davis of Florida; and several nieces and nephews.  

 

He was preceded in death by a brother, Ronald Davis.  

 

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.
