Jean M. Wallace

Jean M. Wallace, 95, of Meadville, passed away Thursday, March 24, 2022 at Meadville Medical Center.

She was born November 17, 1926 in Meadville, a daughter of Patrick and Delores C. Jones Cady.  She married James C. Wallace March 15, 1944 and he preceded her in death January 25, 1984.

Jean was a graduate of Meadville High School.  She worked at the G.C. Murphy Company and J.C. Penney Company and retired from Quaker Dry Cleaning in Meadville.

A member of Stone United Methodist Church, Jean was past president of the Meadville Eagles 219 auxiliary and honorary member of West Mead Fire Hall auxiliary.  She was also a former member of the Meadville Country Club and enjoyed golfing for many years.  Jean bowled for many years and was a member of the ladies team that won the Eagles National Tournament held in Meadville.

Survivors include a daughter, Delores M. (Dee) Quigley of Meadville as well as cousins and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Arthur and Harold O’Day and James Cady; and a son-in-law, Larry Quigley.

Calling hours will be Sunday, March 27th from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the ROBERT W. WAID FUNERAL HOME, 581 CHESTNUT ST., MEADVILLE where the funeral service will follow at 12:00 p.m. with the Rev. Sarah Roncolato, Pastor of Stone United Methodist Church, officiating.

Interment will be in Greendale Cemetery.
