Obituary
Karen L. Powell, 71 of Conneaut Lake, passed away on March 10, 2023 at Quality Life Services – Grove City. Karen was born in Meadville on July 15, 1951 to the late Dale & Elizabeth (Pegan) Barnard. She attended the Meadville Alliance Church and she enjoyed fishing, gardening, working around her house, and the outdoors. She worked for many years as a homemaker for her family.
She married her husband, Steven B. Powell in March of 2001, he preceded her in death on July 16, 2014.
She is survived by her children: Brian (Elizabeth) Chess of Grove City, Kevin (Lisa) Chess of Ashtabula, OH, and Clinton Chess of Meadville, grandchildren: Brendan, Austin, Westin, Carissa, and Morgan Chess and Steven Hollen, sister: Kelly Ann (John) Labruzzo of Meadville, brothers: Dale (Karen) and Jeff (Tina) Barnard all of Meadville, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to ROBERT W. WAID FUNERAL HOME, INC. 581 Chestnut Street, Meadville, where visitation will be from 12 pm – 2 pm on Tuesday, March 14. A funeral service will follow at the funeral home at 2 pm with the Rev. Jeff Conley, Senior Pastor of Meadville Alliance Church, officiating.
Interment will take place in Cochranton Cemetery.
