Robert Thomas (Butch) Ploski, 79, of Meadville, passed away peacefully Monday, January 16, 2023, at The Caring Place, Franklin surrounded by his loving family.
He was born February 6, 1943, in Meadville, a son of Stanley and Mary Watson Ploski. He married Kendra Leeper September 30, 1967.
Butch was a 1962 graduate of Randolph-East Mead High School. He was a Veteran of the Vietnam War, serving on the USS Pocono in the U.S. Navy from 1962 to 1966. He worked as a Lineman for Alltel.
Butch was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and was former president of church council. He was a former member of Saegertown American Legion Post 205. He enjoyed working on electronics, meeting his friends for coffee, woodworking, working on cars, gardening, and birdwatching. He especially loved his grandchildren.
Survivors, in addition to his loving wife Kendra, include a daughter-in-law, Erica Ploski of Cochranton; three grandchildren, Anastasia Ploski (Townsend Pritchard) of Meadville, Savannah Ploski of Cochranton, and Chandler Ploski of Cochranton; a sister, Barbara Atwell (Ronald) of Meadville; good friends, Larry Atkins, John McCaskey, and Gerard Glock (Connie); and several nieces and nephews.
He was proceeded in death by his parents, a son, Garth Leeper Ploski; a sister, Lillian Lee; and a brother, James Ploski.
Calling hours will be Saturday, January 21st from 12-2 p.m. at the ROBERT W. WAID FUNERAL HOME, 581 CHESTNUT ST., MEADVILLE where the funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. with the Rev. Ben Travis, Pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church, officiating. Military honors will be provided by VFW Post 2006.
